Nifty and Sensex ended the day with 2% gain

The Indian benchamarks Nifty and Sensex gained and ended the day with around 2% gain. The buying interest was seen at all sectors. The markets breached the selling panic and moved to the positive territory.

BSE Sensex closed at 20,260.58 which was up by 388.43 points (1.95%) and the NSE Nifty gained 119.40 points (2%) to settle at 6,101.50.

On Bluechip stocks, Reliance Industries was the leading gainer in the Nifty which was rallied by 3% followed by SBI from banking sector with 3.3% rise. Other than Reliance and SBI, Axis Bank rallied 3.5% and ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, HDFC, PNB and IDFC gained 1 to 2.3%.

TCS rose by 2.4% ahead of Q2 results which will come by today evening. Wipro and Infosys were up by 0.5 to 1.3% while HCL Tech declined by 0.6% due to the marginal numbers. On FMCG side, ITC gained by 3.8% and HUL rose by 4.5% and lead the FMCG index's 3% gain. For communication sector, Bharti Airtel was the second top gainer on Nifty which was shot up nearly 5% followed by Reliance Communications which jumped by 2.4%.
