sensex closed with 138 points gain

The Sensex closed with 138 points gain with higher volatility on the second consecutive session of this week. The Nifty hovered around 5800 in the afternoon session after touching intraday high of 5838.

At 03:30pm, the Sensex was up 146.61 points or 0.76% at 19354.94, and the Nifty was up 35.80 points or 0.62% at 5795.80. About 1023 shares advanced, 2062 shares declined, and 306 shares remain unchanged.

In the Index weighed stocks', Wipro, Jaiprakash Associates, Tata Motors, Sterlite Industries, DLF, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Reliance Capital were up 2-4.5%. ACC, Hindalco, SBI, Tata Power, Tata Steel, Ambuja Cements and GAIL were down 1-2%.

Top gainers on the BSE Midcap are Dewan Housing, Ashok Leyland, Motilal Oswal Financial, Wockhardt and Dish TV India were up 4-7%.

Top losers on the BSE Midcap are Ruchi Soya, MVL, Coromandel Int, S Kumars Nation and Britannia were up 4-6%.

Top gainers on the BSE Smallcap are V-Guard Ind, Shristi Infra, Vakrangee, Transport Corp and Rane Holdings were up 9-14%.

Top losers on the BSE Smallcap are PNB Gilts, JMD Telefilms, EIH Assoc Hotel, Nagarjuna Agric and Accentia Techno were down 6-8%.
